This week I managed to successfully add physics to my door allowing it to open and close as force is applied to it, this was ultimately done using a physics constraint as a hinge for the door. I was initially testing the door in a template third person game in which I could move the character into the door to open or close it, once I had it working I added a small handle to it and imported the blueprint into a VR project, so I can test its functionality in VR. The handle took a while to get right as it would often fall off the door, move separately from the door or even stop the door from opening entirely. I solved this by adding the handle into the blueprint and combing the door and the handle as one. Now that I have the door in a VR project, my plan for next week is to test it using motion controls to ensure it functions as intended, and then have a look into making the handle interactable to the player.
